Read me for free* with Kindle Unlimited!

*Sort of free.

If you’re not familiar with Kindle Unlimited, it’s a subscription model available through Amazon enabling readers to pretty much read as much as they want for one monthly price. There are two catches – you can only borrow ten books at a time, and you’re limited to books made available to the Kindle Unlimited program.

Also, technically, you can’t actually read me. It’s my books that are available to read. More specifically, all of my Dreamspinner Press titles. But, seeing as I put so much of myself into the characters I write, you could be reading alternate versions of me. (Is this getting a little weird?)

..

So, What’s Available?

As I mentioned above, all of my former Dreamspinner Press titles are now enrolled in KU. They’re also available for purchase at Amazon worldwide.

Sexy New Covers!

Additionally, I redesigned the covers for two books, one a former Dreamspinner Press novella, Out in the Blue, and the other a story I wrote for the Don’t Read in the Closet event, organized by the M/M Romance group on Goodreads. Wrong Direction is now available for sale for the first time ever, and to read through KU.

No Longer Free*

*Even though they never really were free?

Anyway, the Aliens in New York series is no longer enrolled in the Kindle Unlimited program. For those of you who missed out, I might enroll them again if I write a new book for the series. It’s a pretty big IF right now. I’ve got a lot of projects I’d like to write and limited time to devote to any of them. But, a writer must write, and write I must.

Rambling aside, what this means is that Uncommon Ground and Purple Haze are now available for purchase from, well, just about anywhere. Universal links below!

Counting Out

Counting Out is the last story in the Counting series! I first made it available to newsletter subscribers, now I’m making it available to everyone else.

A little bit about the story: it was meant to be 5000 words. Then 10000. I think it ended up somewhere over 20k, which makes it significantly longer than Counting Fence Posts, the first novella in this series. But that’s just fine because I love writing extras for my guys and I loved writing this story in particular.

(To read all the extras, visit the Counting series page.)

It was so nice to revisit a couple I knew really well, especially Henry and Marc–who were never meant to be a series, but decided they needed to be. (Story of my life, along with ever-increasing word count goals.)

I started writing Counting Out with one goal in mind: to end up with a super happy ever after, beyond the already pretty good happy ever after I delivered at the end of Counting on You. I wanted readers to close the cover on this one feeling as though this was it. That Marc and Henry are a team, forever and ever.

But that doesn’t mean I won’t keep writing them. They need a house next. And a dog and a couple of cats, and lots more cute and perhaps catastrophic moments together.

For now, though, I give you camping, as only Henry and Marc could manage it:

Counting Out (Counting #3.5)

Counting Out (1)Henry and Marc are going on vacation: seven days of camping and hiking in the Green Mountain National Forest. And this time, instead of getting stuck somewhere, they’re going to get lost. Before they’re found, they’ll visit a secluded waterfall, encounter a bear, and walk many hot sweaty miles. Marc will discover he hates trail mix and Henry will finally get an excuse to upgrade his cheap phone. There’s also a falling star and some super sweet wishes.

May You Live in Interesting Times, a We Heart You! Interview

We Heart You! (2)

When We Heart You! Magazine last chatted with Henry Auttenberg and Marc Winnamore, they’d just been rescued from the side of the road in upstate New York where they’d spent six hours trapped in a rental car during the Christmas Eve blizzard. Five months later, they’re living together in Boston. Aw! I love a happy ever after. Continue reading “May You Live in Interesting Times, a We Heart You! Interview”

Counting the Days

When planning Counting on You, the third and final novella in the Counting series, I considered, briefly, making it another disaster story. But though it’d been fun to trap Marc and Henry in the past, what I really wanted to do was see if they could work as a couple. For as much as they’d connected during those first two “dates,” they weren’t ready to declare their hearts. Not quite yet.

I fully subscribe to the idea of love at first sight, first date, first kiss. The early blush of romance can be overwhelming and Henry and Marc could believe they were in love after two dates. I’m also a realist, however, and I believe the day to day would wear on that love. In a perfect world, that early blush would take on a patina, become buffed and scratched and marked with life. In a not so perfect world, cracks would probably form, maybe sending Henry and Marc in new directions. Continue reading “Counting the Days”

It’s Release Day for Counting on You!

If I had to choose a favourite book in the Counting series, it would probably be Counting Fence Posts because Henry was a character I really wanted to write. His story spoke to me in so many ways: the quirky habit of counting things, his long-held crush for co-worker Marc, why he’d been avoiding a serious relationship since college, and his ambition. As I got to know his family, I came to adore them too.

A couple is made up of two characters, though, and it didn’t take Marc long to become more than a source of conflict for Henry. He not only got his own book (Counting Down), but demanded a happy ever after – which is a good thing, as Henry might not have gone there on his own.

And so we have Counting on You, which was such a joy to write! I loved getting to know these two and enjoyed setting them up for a happy ever after.
